Buskers These girls found us during lunch at a noodle shop and charged us 2 yuan for a song they sang along with their untuned guitars.
Dunhuang Greenhouses May signalled the start of grape growing in Dunhuang. The white buildings are the ends of long greenhouses with one adobe wall and poles to support plastic sheeting.
Dunhuang Front Door Each family house has similar doors opening to a courtyard. Adobe walls are common. So are poplars.

Dunhuang Dunes 2 From a ridge the sand stretches into the distance.
Mogao Caves A complex of 400 buddhist caves, with lots of art and a few scarily-large buddhas. These survive from Dunhuang's days as a stop on the silk road.
