The Accultured Robot presents:
Lake Aloha, August 2005

echolakes.jpg
Echo Lakes - the start of our hike. You can take a water taxi from the trailhead to the end of the 2nd lake. There are tons of cabins all around these lakes.

Pacific Crest Trail - the hike to Lake Aloha goes through forest that looks like this.

Lake Aloha at Sunset - On the first day, there was some wonderful alpen glow over the lake.
camp_lake_aloha.jpg
Lake Aloha campite - I really dug the little nook we found to camp in.
heather_lake.jpg
Heather Lake - This is just above Lake Aloha, and the next morning we jumped off of the far cliffs.
lake_aloha_water.jpg
Pirate Cove - This was our main swimming area. Apart from being a tad cold, this is the best swimming I've found yet.
lake_aloha_rock.jpg
Rockiness - The far side of Lake Aloha is incredibly rocky. I could imagine searching these cliffs for the doors of Moria.

Pacific Crest Trail at Lake Aloha - The trail goes right by where we camped.

Crossing trees - Where hung our "bear bag" from the slanty tree.

Lake Aloha - More prime swimming.

The Devil's Horns - I don't this is pyramid peak, but it might be. The snow was still bountiful in August.

Maybe Pyramid Peak - This one is more likely Pyramid Peak. Here it is pictured in the woods.
